What kind of designer am I?
I like to get to know the player and why they play a certain game or genre. Empathy is a word not often used during game development though it is at the core of my method. It is important to understand the players’ needs, especially those that are hard to put in words. It is important to create a design vision or philosophy for each game based on those player needs. Every design choice has to answer to that design vision or philosophy.
